One of the great English designers of the 20th century, Robert Dudley Best (1892-1984) studied at the Dusseldorf School of Industrial Design and the Interior Design Atelier in Paris. During this period, he was closely involved with the design pioneers of the 1920s and witnessed the historic upheavals that impacted the Bauhaus School, which celebrated functional structure without losing aesthetic sensibility. Influenced by Bauhaus design and in continuous production since 1930 without compromise in its techniques or materials, the Bestlite series has become a design classic.
